📟 Assemble ILB 📟
At 06:09 this morning (Sunday 4th October) Jersey Coastguard requested our inshore lifeboat crew to assemble in preparation to assist a 42ft sailing vessel located 2 miles west of Jersey that was struggling to make way.
Launching on service a short time later with a crew of 4 volunteers aboard, Albert Pinel made its way to the last reported location where contact with the casualty vessel was made and a welfare check of its crew were carried out.
After a long night at sea, in calm conditions, for the crew aboard the yacht, it was decided the best course of action was to take the yacht under tow and make way back to St Helier.
Our ILB arrived back into St Helier with the casualty vessel shortly before 09:00 where it was placed safely alongside Albert Pier.
Albert Pinel was washed down and refuelled, and made available for the next tasking.
