The Council

As a business owner and director with over 37 years at senior management and Board level in the construction and facilities management fields Paul has a demonstrated ability to offer support to any business wishing to expand or diversify into different markets having managed struggling businesses of various sizes through significant change and on to successful trading.
Paul has served in an honorary position as an inshore lifeboatman for 13 years, latterly as a helmsman, as Chairman of the Jersey Safety Council for 9 years and as a trustee of Centrepoint Trust for 2 years.
Paul has a keen interest in boating, travelling and his family.


Married to Hilary and a father of 3, I previously worked for Jersey Evening Post, then a Manager at The Mermaid Tavern and then 30 Years at Fuel Supplies. A lover of football and rugby, I then became a football Class1 Referee.
I have been involved with many charities, Leukaemia Research, committee member, The Jersey Sea Cadets, vice-chairman of the parents’ association, Chairman of The Trinity Battle of Flowers Association and numerous positions in The Jersey Battle of Flowers Association, finishing up as Chairman. I was also Safety Officer for The Jersey Rally for 17 years.
I also spent 18 years in The Trinity Honorary Police as a C.O. and Vingtenier and for the past few years have been a Roads Inspector for the Vingtaine de Rondin in Trinity.


In addition to her secretarial duties, Hannah is an active member of the fundraising team, having dedicated countless hours to supporting the JLA’s efforts. Her passion for the organisation and its mission is evident in her commitment to helping develop and further the JLA’s reach and impact.
When she’s not volunteering, Hannah enjoys spending time outside, whether on the sea for leisure and occasionally works aboard local charter and private boats with her partner. Her connection to the sea and community makes her a vital part of the lifeboat team.

Marcus Nobes serves as the Treasurer of the Jersey Lifeboat Association (JLA), a vital role in ensuring the financial stability and accountability of the organisation. The JLA, a charitable organisation dedicated to providing independent and professional lifeboat services in Jersey, relies on careful financial management to maintain its operations and support its volunteers.
With a strong background in financial management and organisational oversight, Marcus oversees budgeting, fundraising efforts, and financial reporting to ensure the JLA remains sustainable and transparent in its mission to safeguard lives at sea. His dedication and expertise contribute to the association’s ongoing success in serving the community and upholding maritime safety.
The Crew

Alain Baudains has spent his life around boats and the sea, with extensive local knowledge of Jersey's waters. A mechanical engineer, qualified skipper, and Yachtmaster Instructor (Power), he brings a wealth of expertise and hands-on experience to the Jersey Lifeboat Association (JLA).
His commitment to the JLA reflects his belief in an independent, community-driven rescue service, ensuring that Jersey's waters remain safe for all. With hands-on experience in challenging sea conditions, coupled with strong leadership and teamwork, Alain is an invaluable asset to the crew.
Whether responding to emergency shouts, supporting crew training, or contributing to the strategic direction of the association, he plays a vital role in maintaining a professional and effective rescue service.
