At 17:46, Jersey Lifeboat Association received a page to launch our all-weather lifeboat, Sir Max Aitken III, to assist a sailing vessel experiencing engine failure in the Brett Passage.
The lifeboat launched within 14 minutes and proceeded eastward. Upon arrival, the casualty vessel was under tow by a nearby motor vessel but was struggling to make headway. Sir Max took over the tow and brought the vessel safely back to St Helier.
All persons on board were safe and well, though understandably a little cold.
The casualty vessel was secured alongside in St Helier by 20:00.
As always, a big thank you to our volunteer crew for their swift and professional response.
Your boats, your crew, your lives.
