Sea Safety Demonstration: Sir Max

Today at the Jersey Boat Show, Sir Max took centre stage to demonstrate what real seamanship looks like during our live Sea Safety Display, proudly presented by the Jersey Lifeboat Association (Jersey CI). Spectators gathered to watch as Sir Max and our volunteer crew performed a simulated rescue of a dismasted vessel within the marina, followed by a textbook alongside tow to safety — a vital manoeuvre in real-life maritime emergencies.

These displays are not only crowd-pleasers but also a critical part of our mission to educate the public on maritime safety and the essential work carried out by lifeboat crews around the Channel Islands. The demonstration is just one of several being held throughout the event, giving attendees an up-close look at the techniques and teamwork involved in coastal rescue operations.

While you’re here, don’t forget to stop by our stand to meet the team, learn more about sea safety, and pick up information on how to support our cause. You’re also warmly invited to visit us on the pontoon, where you can climb aboard our RIB, Albert Pinel, and chat with the crew about their experiences and our lifesaving missions.

We’re proud to be part of this year’s Boat Show and look forward to welcoming you aboard!
