At 18:00 on Thursday 3rd October, the JLA were tasked by Jersey Coastguard to respond to a Mayday transmission at Les Miquiers Reef to assist with the search.
The JLA all weather vessel, Sir Max Aitken III, was launched on service within 10 minutes of the paging, and headed south to start the search.
Joined by the powerful Channel Islands Air Search Lion’s Pride aircraft, the area of Les Minquiers reef and the surrounding area had been searched. Both assets were stood down after nothing was found.
