Our crew were suited and booted to attend the Gorey Boat Blessing yesterday.
Sir Max Aitken III and Albert Pinel left the harbour in St Helier and arrived in Gorey at 10:30am. We thoroughly enjoyed the fly past from Channel Islands Air Search. As the blessing of the boats and the service of remembrance commenced, we were humbled by the words from Rev’d Jeff Wattley of Gouray Church, and were pleased to also see the Rev’d Pete Stone – Rector of St Martin’s Church – also in attendance. Also present were Captain Bill Sadler of Ports of Jersey with Jersey Coastguard’s pilot boat, plus Jersey Fire & Rescue, Channel Islands Air Search, RNLI Jersey and ourselves. Thanks also to Gorey Boat Owners Association.
Many thanks to the team at Tuk Tuk Thai Cafe, Gorey for supplying with an amazing and delicious lunch.
At the conclusion of the services, our crew left Gorey to enjoy a gorgeous day on the water. Albert Pinel conducted an impromptu exercise with Jersey Fire & Rescue on veering down around the Havre des Pas area, cementing relationships, working capabilities and inter-operability. We then headed back to St Helier for wash down and to get ready for tasking.
