This week we say goodbye, for now, to Jake as he leaves the island to begin the next chapter.

Jake has been a valued member of the JLA team and has given his time, effort and commitment to the JLA throughout his time with us. He has become a familiar face around the station, on the boats and during training, and he will certainly be missed by the crew, not least when we need something from the top shelf.

After taking a gap year, Jake is now leaving Jersey to study Design Engineering at Bournemouth University. It is a great opportunity for him to pursue something he is genuinely interested in, and one we know he will throw himself into with the same enthusiasm and commitment he has shown at the JLA.

We hope this is very much a “see you soon” rather than a goodbye, and we look forward to welcoming him back whenever he is home in Jersey.
