SHOUT 26th May 2025

On Monday 26th May at approximately 09:15, JLA’s All weather lifeboat, Sir Max Aitken III, was called into action to assist a vessel that had lost engine power and was drifting in amongst the reefs south of the Raudiere on a falling tide.

Sir Max and her crew sprung into action and quickly made contact with the casualty vessel and began a tow back to St Helier.

The casualty vessel was alongside on Albert Pier shortly before 09:50. Following a quick wash down and return to service checks, Sir Max Aitken III and her crew were ready for action before 10:30.

This morning’s successful shout is a timely reminder of how vital it is to carry essential safety equipment on board; thanks to the occupants’ preparedness and ability to contact the Coastguard, help was quickly on its way.
