Jersey Lifeboat Association (JLA) Marks 999 Emergency Services Day: 9th September 2024
As Jersey’s only independent lifeboat service, we at the JLA are proud to join in marking 999 Emergency Services Day on the 9th of September 2024. This day honours the bravery and dedication of all emergency service personnel across the UK, including here in Jersey.
Every day, our dedicated volunteer crew and lifeboat stand ready to protect our island’s waters, ensuring the safety of those in distress at sea.
Whilst this year celebrates a big anniversary for lifeboat services across the UK, we want to highlight the importance of teamwork, dedication, and public support within the emergency services here in Jersey. Our volunteers are a crucial part of Jersey’s emergency response, who we are proud to serve alongside, and their commitment is central to our mission.
Celebrating Jersey’s Lifesavers on 999 Day
Emergency Services Day is about more than just acknowledging past achievements —it’s about inspiring future generations to get involved, whether through volunteering, supporting, or even joining the emergency services. It’s also an opportunity to thank the people who are always there when we need them most.
The JLA encourages everyone to take a moment today to reflect on the importance of the emergency services, and how we can all contribute to ensuring Jersey remains a safe place for all. Together, with your support, we’ll continue to serve and protect our island waters.
Your lives, Your crew, Your boats—thank you for your ongoing support of the Jersey Lifeboat Association.
