But before you do, here are some important safety equipment tips to keep in mind…
Lifejackets
Lifejackets are an essential piece of safety equipment. Before setting sail, check that you have sufficient life jackets on board for everyone, and ensure they cater to all sizes and ages. We also recommend that you wear a lifejacket at all times whilst onboard – stored away they’re no use to anyone in an emergency.
Flares
Marine flares are another incredibly useful piece of kit. They not only signal when you are in distress but also help rescuers pinpoint your exact location in an emergency. Make sure that these are well stocked onboard and remember to regularly review the expiry date on each of your flares.
