SHOUT 15th August 2025

At 00:25 this morning our pagers sounded, calling the crew to Sir Max.

A sailing vessel had found herself around 8nm west of Corbière with no wind in her sails, fuel tanks empty, and battery power fading fast. With no way to make progress, she was left drifting in the darkness.

Sir Max slipped her lines and headed west into the night, the crew making quick work of locating the vessel and securing her for the long tow home. By 04:30, both boats were safely back alongside in St Helier.

The Jersey Lifeboat Association are ready and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – ready to answer the call, whatever the weather.
