Safety Tips: Keep Warm

The summer months have come and gone, but this doesn’t mean that danger is going into hibernation. Besides, the pools lidos are still open. Of course, while you’re swimming, remember to stay as safe as possible. No matter what the season, safety should take precedence.

Keep Warm

When it comes to autumn safety tips, our advice is both basic and easy to follow. Stay vigilant and keep safety top-of-mind at all times. Finally, the less time spent outside in total darkness, the better.

  • Wrap up warm. Dress in layers and wear a hat, gloves and scarf.
  • Keep the cold out.
  • Don’t use alcohol to keep warm.
  • Have warming food and drinks.
  • Stay active.

For kids and adults that are still swimming, the same rules for summer apply to the autumn, with the addition of keeping yourself warm both in the water, and when you get out.

  • Cover your head. You wouldn’t go skiing without a hat; don’t go diving in cold waters without a hood.
  • Keep the water out.
  • Bare nothing.
  • Stick to shallow waters.
  • Surface if you shiver.
  • Wrap up on deck.
  • Have a hot drink.

Take precautions to help you and your kids stay as safe as possible this autumn.
