A busy few days for the JLA

The JLA has had a busy few days!

On Thursday evening, our crew aboard the Albert Pinel joined The Jersey Duchess for a medical scenario training exercise while afloat. As part of our commitment to continuous training and development, this exercise was a valuable opportunity to put our recently revalidated casualty care skills to the test, showcasing our ability to respond swiftly and effectively to evolving situations.

On Friday evening, we had two call-outs. Our first response was to assist members of the public who were cut off by the tide at La Mare. Thankfully, Jersey Fire & Rescue quickly intervened, executing a rapid and successful rescue, allowing the Albert Pinel to stand down.

Shortly after, while returning to the station, we were dispatched again, this time in Sir Max, to assist a French sailing vessel approximately 7 nautical miles south of Jersey experiencing engine failure. Unable to make headway, the sailors were relieved to see us arrive and provide assistance in safely returning them to Jersey.

These recent events have underscored the importance of our training and readiness to respond, and we remain committed to ensuring the safety and support of our community on and off the water.
